Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is a form of complementary therapy that uses skilled speech and the power of positive suggestion to access your imagination and bring about subconscious change to your thoughts, feelings and behaviour. Hypnotherapy has been used for centuries to successfully change people’s lives for the better.

Can I be hypnotised?

Every one of us naturally experiences a hypnotic trance daily (such as when you drive ‘automatically’ on your regular route to work when thinking of something else), so there is no person who ‘cannot be hypnotized.’ It is down to my skill to find the best methods to work for you or explore the reasons you may be putting up barriers to change.

What will happen on the day?

In a typical consultation (before the day of the session), I will ask questions about your past and present, the problem at hand, and any medical issues to properly assess the best way to achieve your desired goal.

On the day, I will then use speech and direction to ease you into a hypnotic state (deep relaxation), which helps to open your subconscious mind to new beliefs and positive suggestions (thus changing conscious reactions and patterns of behaviour). In most cases, I’ll have you speak under hypnosis, and in others you just relax and allow your brain to focus on my guidance.

At the end of the therapy, I will then guide you out of the hypnotic state and back to consciousness with a full awareness of what has happened during the session. In can often take five minutes or so to feel fully rejuvenated after deep relaxation, and then the session is complete.

If you have any questions about hypnotherapy at all, please contact me and I would be happy to discuss it with you!
